Some bloggers have been posting about the amount of spam they get. Some get horrendous amounts, and others get very few. I get some but I am not swamped with them. Mostly I am mildly irritated by them, sometimes they annoy me, and a few of them are even a source of amusement given the utter claptrap they spurt forth.
Blogger seems to pick up a lot and dump them into the spam box before I even see them. Most days a few get through and I have to manually zap them into the box myself. I don't just delete them I keep them stored for future reference, or future laughs, ha ha, you gotta laugh at some of them. At the latest count I have 1236 comments stored there. I have decided to share a few with you, incase you are not getting your full quota, I would hate you to feel left out, ha ha.
Spammers pretend to be your friend, they usually pick out a post which is at least a year old, they think you won't notice if they sneak an advert in there for their own blog or web site. Blogs and web sites are moving closer together, so it is sometimes difficult to know which is which. If you look on Money Saving Expert forum, in the Earn Extra Income topic, there are long threads where people discuss ways of earning money from blogs. People think all they have to do is to start a blog, put a few adverts on, and wait for the money to come rolling in. They forget that you need to add interesting content to draw the readers in, and they soon lose interest when there is no dosh forthcoming. Some of the hardy ones try every trick to get their blog address out there, spending hours spamming other blogs. Another type of spammer are those who are paid to send spam, they are working for a company.

To sum up, a lot of the spammers come back over and over again, they copy and paste the same comment on the same blog post, many times. The most recent comments are getting more and more friendly as they try to convince you that you are their best friend. No longer is it enough to say 'I like your blog, come and look at mine'. If any spammers are reading this, I don't respond to advertisements, so spam off.
